I dropped Ash off at the hospital just a little after half past nine. I was already running late for the courthouse so there was very little time to get worried and all torn up and shit about anything. And thank Zod! Karen said they were going to start almost immediately and I said OK and I was out of there. But yes, of course I was worried. The jury selection process took all day. It was really fascinating. I didn't get called into the box until after lunch. And for a while there, I thought I was actually going to be a juror, never mind that ten days is five days too long for the lab. But luckily, the prosecution didn't like my thoughts regarding the guilt of an accessory v. a principal. The defense probably did because I think that's all the prosecution has on the the defendant. So yeah, I got dismissed :p Then Karen called while I was still in the parking lot. Ash's procedure had gone very well and would I like to swing by and see him? Ash was groggy and swimming in pain meds, but otherwise looked fine, my poor cat. But the important thing is that he won't be suffering anymore. |
