The ceiling, as far as the tin stuff is concerned, is finally done! I finished installing the crown moldings on the last side-and-a-half this afternoon. 

FYI, not to be outdone by the panels, the moldings were a bitch too. "Pre-cut coped inside corners" my ass. They did not fit! I had to recut all four of them. I should've just ordered all uncut ones and saved $4 per corner, you know? Yes, you bet your ass I will next time. I wonder how many complaints they've gotten about this. I'd complain except that I don't have the energy.

N.E.way. The exposed screw heads still need to be painted (if I can find metallic paint that doesn't only come in a tagger's can that is) but that's about it. I've removed the plastic from the floor, and swept, dusted and vacuumed, and now the room looks like an empty room again. Only awesome and so fantastically un-ordinary. Just don't look too closely or you'll notice all the spots were I spilled blood and cried tears of frustration ;)

Next up: more work! I need to go to Ikea soon. I need more shelves for this room, and ones that match what I already have, e.g. this thing Unlikely's sitting on. Then I'm going to move the bookshelves from the so-called living room into this room, and bring it all together -old and new- with paint, something rich and dark. So, what, another month's worth of weekends maybe?

p.s. Unlikely is dying so I need to get a new machine soon too. Maybe a Mac this time?

p.p.s. The "porch" light outside that's been dead since the month I moved here even though I bought a new bulb for it? Lit when I came home from the lab around 10:30 this evening. Creepy-spooky, yes?
