I was in an English pub. It had an aquarium in front of the bar and there was a dolphin in it. He was five or six feet long and the aquarium was barely big enough for him. Then a fire broke out and we saved him. We were carrying him and no one knew what to do with him so I suggested we keep him in the Santa Paula public swimming pool for now. The pool was huge and more than 50 feet deep in some parts. They were still filling it with water when we got there and it was only half full but there were people in it already like they couldn't wait. We dropped the dolphin in the water to see if he liked it. At first he swam only within a small area (which I imagined was exact size of his previous home) but he quickly learned. I was worried that people would see him but no one did except for a little girl. He swam close to the wall and he was very fast. A girl (she helped carry him from the pub) tried to talk to him but he didn't hear her because she was standing ten or twenty feet above the water. The shallow end of the pool was sloped, a beach covered with  smooth tiles. I went there and sat on the water's edge. I dipped my hand in the water and called out the dolphin's name. He came to me in an instant, bulleting out of the water and sliding up the smooth slope and then down again, resting on my back. Then he shapeshifted, taking on a human form and we were friends.
